Nola Campbell, 83, of 2405 Greenwood Road died about 5 p.m. Monday at Piedmont Medical Center after suffering the latest of a series of debilitating strokes.

Campbell was celebrated as a potter, an artist keeping alive a tradition essential to preserving the history and culture of the Catawba tribe.
