Mari Sandoz was a fine story-teller. I found her book Crazy Horse ‘The Strange Man of the Oglalas’ to be so compelling,it was the beginning of my own desire to do whatever I could to help the Native American people any way I could. The descripitive nature of this book was especially educational to me as I had learned ‘HISTORY’ in a completely different book: American History 101.
Mari Sandoz in my opinion was a great writer, historian, and friend of the Native Americans, when such a position was not at all popular.
