Petition to Stop NDN Mascots in S.C. SCHOOL

Today, I am supporting my son David A. Running Wolf Coffey in his quest for removing the Indian Mascot from Charleston County Schools and seek your support. My name is Billy W. Night Fox Coffey. I am of Shawnee descent, retired U.S. Navy and live in Goose Creek, S.C. with my wife and three children.

Within this area of S.C. we have Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. At times within Charleston and Berkeley Counties we have questionable events that occur and are not of the best interest of our children or the public at large.

We have had discrimination of races, missing children sleeping on school buses the drivers failed to take home, teachers reportedly threatening children with violence, yet little is done by the school boards. We have even had problems with our state government in the removal of the Confederate Flag from the state capital.

Today, I am supporting my son David A. Running Wolf Coffey in his quest for removing the Indian Mascot from Charleston County Schools. David is 16, an Eagle Scout since the age of 14 and currently the Youth President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Indian Movement.

David brought this issue to the attention of Robert Laughing Owl, Adult President of the S.C. Chapter of the American Indian Movement who is assisting him in this matter.

For my son, I request that you look at the online petition, sign and forward to family members, friends and Nations, requesting support of this action. You can find the petition at Petition On Line–Mascots

Peace Be With You,
