They were made from a frame of logs covered with adobe, a clay mixture which was allowed to dry in the sun.

Pueblos are the apartment like buildings that were
made from a frame of logs covered with adobe, a clay mixture which
was allowed to dry in the sun. Pueblos , a Spanish word that means
village were multi storied dwellings with flat roofs that were interconnected
by ladders. Ladders were also used to provide entrances through the
flat roofs from one floor to the next.
